Welcome to The Art of CCB (s)
A place where Art and the Art of Life meet. You’re wholeheartedly invited to join!
As a self-taught I have various skills and crafts in the areas of painting, illustration, bronze sculpture, stained glass, computering and writing.
I study and research universal life processes and laws, how they are communicated and what effects they have.
I studied at the Pabo, the HKLT faculty of educational studies (mathematics and economics), for kindergarten teacher and took various courses in the field of personal growth and development.
Established as an independent visual artist for private persons and companies and co-director since 1995, my partner Ans and I provided personal development and inner communication courses and silverlining sessions as well as mentorships. Versatile talented I share my work and insights, for assignments you can contact me by sending me a direct message.
From an early age, I have marveled about words and wondered how they essentially work and what powers lie within them.
This personal quest was initiated by the pain that words can cause, the sense of injustice that regularly creeps up on me and the uncomfortable atmosphere that can be palpably present in a space when words stay unspoken.
From the need I felt within myself to unravel the mystery that words carry within, followed an almost lifelong quest for answers.
Described, illustrated and interpreted in the metaphorical storytelling series ‘The Legend of Mazze’ and ‘Yawe’.
I wanted to know, on all levels of existence, where the discrepancy in people come from that causes their words not match their actions, nor match reality as I experiences it. That they are not authentic and therefore not trustworthy and painfully distort reality.
Are there natural processes and mechanisms at work in this?
Is there a natural law that can explain this phenomenon?
Slowly but surely, I gained insights into the true nature of events and became aware of their underlying narratives.
I began to understand ‘the why’ and could see from a different, broader and deeper, perspective how actual sensory perceptions (and their denial) were inseparable from the development of the power of the I, the ego, and our self-consciousness.
And the purifying role natural aggression has in it.
I discovered that words carry a miraculous and beautiful phenomenon withing them and that they clearly and distinctly give shape to what is living inside myself, moves and animates me.
I have described my findings in the (Dutch) book:
‘Wat ‘Ik’ te vertellen heeft’.

On this site and in the posts of The Art of CCB(s) I love to share more about the Art I create and my personal life-journey that goes hand in hand with my creations. Some topics you can expect are:
Books, Art & Illustrations
On the website itself, you can find fully illustrated books and enjoy the art and illustrations. I’ll keep you posted in newsletters when there have been changes.
Little Gems
Quotes, poems and stories have often guided me through special life events. Every now and then, I like to share a few from myself and a few from others that can enlighten your mind, as they do for me.
Return to the well of Life
In the spring of 2021 I decided to create a masterpiece (seriously and with a smile). It was on my wishlist for as long as I can remember and; if not now then when …?
I knew intuitive that I should do this in a different way then I worked ever before. Without any haste or dead-line, not knowing if it would be shared or published. Trusting that this is what I had to do and whatever it would bring would be meant to be.
The story emerged out of all the work I ever created, the knowledge I gained, experiences I lived through and the awareness this brought me ánd a question I had, wondering; What happened once to humans and humanity that created today’s reality?
In all its simplicity Yawe shares a universal process of life. One in which a natural flow becomes disrupted to … let living beings grow and evolve in an awareness of all life encompasses and what moves them from within.
It’s my intention to share how the deeper layers of the story are intertwined with my own and our lives in the section ‘Return to the well of Life’.
The story itself can be read here.

And for the rest … all that comes to (my) mind.
You are wholeheartedly invited,
Alja
P.S. On the website of www.theartofccb.nl is much more to enjoy! Feel welcome to pay a visit.

The newsletters and publications of The Art of CCB(s) will be free available and shared as a gift (you can read my motivation why I choose to do this on the 'free or paid?' page).
In an awareness that a gift comes with a responsibility to respect and care for the work, the creator of it and yourself as receiver. To take out of it and internalize what leads to growth, development and awareness of your humanity and let go of what no longer serves, so that you can share (more of) your own inner beauty with the world as your gift to yourself and your fellow human beings.
I leave it to anyone’s abilities, possibilities, considerations and conscience to show your appreciation and value the seeds of the posts in ways you can, and the ones who are open to and can afford it; by upgrading to become a paid or founding member of The Art of CCB (s). Receiving your support would be an honor and a blessing and welcomed with open arms and a warm heart. Making it possible for me to keep sharing my inner beauty this way too.
You’re wholeheartedly invited and welcome to join!
